I'd like the game to have the option to set and use default names for the characters. I always use the same (but different for each) name for my wizards, crusaders and scoundrels and a default setting would make that process a bit simpler, especially when I change characters between games.

Would anyone else find this a useful feature?

That's not a bad idea. I've been trying to use a new name for every winner so that my high scores board is diverse. It's been kind of fun this way. Normally each hero takes several incarnations to win, but Fierabras was able to defeat Satan in only 1 try.
