Genie keeps spawning golden bugs, and a nice number of these drop health and energy potions. Combine this with the overheal / overenergy effect of taking a potion when your meter is full and you've got an easy way to get your hp and energy into the 100s with no risk.

I've been standing one square to the left or right of the bug spawning circle, and I keep bashing (1-2 hits) the bugs that spawn with my +2 sword. I've got over 100hp and 70 energy now, and because I'm too far down the screen the boss doesn't attack.

When low on food, just restart the game and you'll be able to go down to the corridor and pick up some roasted food before triggering the genie again

Yes this is overpowered. It is even easier with the crystal fairy.  Just stand one square diagnoally from the beetle spawn and you can pretty much kill beetles as they come with your wand.  If you use one or two crystal balls, you can just sit there and skip turns and collect potions.

With enough patience, you can even tank Satan and kill him with a dagger.

Thanks very much for the info. We've adjusted the beetle spawn-rate in rev 1.02 to try to eliminate this "Bug". LOL.

We have not looked at the incidence of Roasted Food being available in this situation upon a restart. Very interesting.

So by 'adjusted' now no beetles drop potions, and when killing the Genie he no longer drops any potions on the floor?

Fight seems to be a bit tougher now.

at a certain point you dont even need food- the hp regen every few turns becomes greater than the hp loss to starvation once you get your hp up to 70 or so.
